The Cooking School Instructor plays a pivotal role in delivering this mission. Your primary responsibility is to educate and inspire our guests, ensuring each class is engaging, informative, and fun. You will bring our values to life through every lesson, creating a warm and welcoming environment that reflects the essence of Healthy Italia.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivers an exceptional cooking class experience at every class using recipes and procedures provided.

  • Ensures that every class is a positive and enjoyable experience for the guests, aiming to enhance their happiness and satisfaction.
  • Brings a high level of energy and passion to each class, inspiring students and creating a vibrant learning atmosphere.
  • Ensures high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the experience by keeping work area and guest areas clean and organized.
  • Clearly explains recipes and techniques, ensuring all students understand the instructions. Regularly check for understanding and provide additional support as needed, making sure the pace of the class is adapted to the pace of each different group of students.
  • Ensure that the quality and delivery of each class are consistent, adhering to established procedures and standards.
  • Encourage a supportive and inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable experimenting and learning from mistakes.
  • Efficiently manage class materials and ingredients, ensuring everything is prepared and available for each session.
  • Collaborate with other instructors and staff to deliver seamless, high-quality classes, ensuring every team member’s contribution is valued.
  • Prioritize the needs and satisfaction of students, going above and beyond to ensure they have a rewarding experience.
  • Actively promote and embody the company values in all interactions, setting a positive example for students and colleagues.
  • Ensures all food items are cooked and served at the correct temperature and under sanitary conditions.
  • Deliver and expand revenue (e.g. by driving upsell/cross sells when appropriate) to result in growing net dollar retention and low customer churn rate
  • Provides coaching in the moment and performance feedback to Cooking School Assistants and communicates performance issues directly to the Kitchen Manager
  • Anticipates and solves problems by taking decisive action, follow up with the Kitchen Manager
  • Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills with executives, customers and coworkers

RESULTS

  • Deliver engaging and informative cooking classes that meet the school's standards (e.g. increasing the number of repeating guests per quarter by 50%)
  • Foster a positive and interactive learning environment (e.g. number of times that reviews mention engagement +20%)
  • Promote and increase sales of Italian products during and after classes ( Percentage of students purchasing products after class +50%; Revenue generated from product sales per class, target: €200+; Monthly increase in product sales, target: 10%+ growth)
  • Demonstrate deep understanding and passion for Italian cooking (e.g. Student feedback on instructor's knowledge (target: 90%+ positive)
  • Work effectively with other instructors and staff (e.g. (target: 90%+ positive))
  • Maintain high standards in every class taught (e.g. Consistent student feedback scores (target: 4.5/5+ average))
  • Communicates with clarity, conciseness and force with other team members
  • Embrace a culture of client excellence across the entire organization

REQUIREMENTS

  • Enthusiasm for teaching and cooking
  • Love and passion for Italian Culinary Culture
  • ABILITY TO LEARN "THE WAY WE DO IT HERE"
  • Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with employees and customers.
  • Ability to move about the work place coaching and directing employees and/or class participants or while selling to customers.
  • Ability to distinguish, with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors or odors, or recognizing particular flavors or odors using tongue or nose.
  • Ability to grab, reach, push, pull, bend, stoop, kneel and crouch in order to demonstrate, retrieve and/or replenish merchandise and/or cooking equipment.pm
  • Ability to use hands to seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise in order to chop, whisk, slice, stir, juice and/or demonstrate other techniques
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for up to 5 hours at a time..
  • Ability to work a varied schedule in order to teach classes at different times of the day, week and year. MANDATORY WORKING NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS.
  • Ability to operate a computer, POS system, keyboards, merchandise scanners and mouse in order to accomplish work.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Ability to lift and/or move merchandise and/or kitchen equipment weighing up to 35 lbs.
  • Environmental conditions: working with an open flame and/or other heating units, and exposure to variation in kitchen temperature.
  • Passionate cook - no degree required
  • 4 MONTH TRAINING will be provided in order for the Chef Instructor to be independent in teaching Cooking Classes and Private Events
  • Ability to multi-task effectively and switch focus with ease
  • Extremely organized with keen attention to details
  • Self starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal guidance
  • Solution based thinker with a consistently positive attitude
  • Comfortable stepping outside regular duties as needed
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing plans and priorities in an ever-evolving environment
  • Ability to respond professionally to critical feedback and proactively in seeking support and help when needed.
  • Preferred: Italian language speaker
  • Preferred: Spanish language speaker

AVAILABILITY

  • Wednesday to Sunday flexible hours, mostly 12 - 9 PM
  • Must be flexible to work additional hours/days as needed
