Cooking classes for adults and kids: passion and fun for the whole family

When Cristina Bossini founded Healthy Italia, she had a very clear vision: to transform cooking into a shared experience that could create lasting memories. An approach that goes beyond pure instruction, where hours spent in the kitchen become quality time built on relationships, genuine presence, and real connections—a truly valuable experience in an increasingly digital age!

Healthy Italia cooking classes are therefore not only an opportunity to challenge yourself and learn some of the most widely used techniques in Italian cuisine, but also to spend precious time with your loved ones. This option also encourages children to get involved, making them central to a creative, fun, and highly rewarding activity.

Discover the different types of cooking classes that Healthy Italia offers—why not consider them as an original gift idea?

Cooking class ideas for kids

Exploring fresh, wholesome ingredients, handling utensils, feeling different textures: all highly stimulating experiences for a child. And even better if they also result in a recipe to enjoy together, prepared from scratch and based on seasonal menus from the finest Italian tradition!

That’s why Healthy Italia has always offered even its youngest participants the opportunity to try their hand at cooking: together with parents or family members, or— for slightly older children—under the guidance of our staff, with careful supervision at all times.

Children can take part in three types of classes:

All three types share an educational approach that combines fun and learning, taking into account the different developmental stages of children (ages 3–6 or 6+). Through practical and engaging activities, young participants learn about ingredients, collaboration, and developing manual skills and creativity.

It’s an original way to approach cooking, gain new skills, and enjoy a fun and educational day they will remember for a long time to come.

Cooking classes for kids: how they work

Here are some details about the three types of cooking classes for children:

  • Cooking with the Kids: an experience to share with family. Each table is designed for two people: one adult (parent, grandparent, or another caregiver) and one child. You cook together, collaborate, and learn while having fun. Sessions take place on Saturday and Sunday mornings
  • Drop-off classes: held during school breaks. Children participate independently in a safe and guided environment, always under our staff’s supervision
  • Summer Camp: runs throughout the summer, from Monday to Thursday. Only for children, who are guided through all activities step by step by our staff.
NEW FOR 2026: Each week, children will prepare soups to donate to local charities that help people in need.

The benefits of cooking classes for kids

Some of the benefits of our cooking classes for children:

  • Development of fine motor skills through actions such as stirring, measuring, and cutting
  • Expanded culinary vocabulary
  • Exposure to new flavors and ingredients, which encourages healthier eating habits and helps overcome reluctance toward less familiar foods
  • Teamwork and collaboration: Children cook in pairs or small groups, always under the supervision of experienced instructors
  • Creativity in the kitchen: Each participant receives personalized attention and is encouraged to take care in presenting dishes, experimenting with colors and textures
  • Safety and nutrition education: During the classes, children learn kitchen safety rules, the proper use of utensils, and basic nutrition concepts. They learn to recognize quality ingredients and understand the importance of a balanced diet.

At the end of each lesson, the little chefs can enjoy what they’ve prepared and often take their dishes home to share with the family.

Cooking class ideas for adults

We now come to cooking classes for adults, one of Healthy Italia’s most popular services, which is constantly growing and evolving.

There are also three types of cooking classes available for adults:

  • Italian regional classes: focused on specialties from different areas and cities of Italy (duration: 2 hours)
  • Date Night: evening events centered on typical local or national recipes (such as pizza and tiramisù), or on menus based on a particular ingredient (for example fish) or a specific Italian region (duration: 2 hours)
  • Saturday afternoon themed workshops: a more immersive experience with an in-depth focus on a specific theme, such as pasta shapes, sauces and gravies, first courses, gnocchi, or specific techniques. During these workshops, participants prepare multiple dishes (duration: 3 hours).

As with children, each type of cooking class for adults is designed to offer a practical, engaging, and fun experience that allows participants to discover the secrets of authentic Italian cuisine, try new techniques, and take home dishes to enjoy with friends and family.
